orion 2500d help

I hooked up one mtx 9500 to my orion amp and there is output, but definitely not the kind of output that there is supposed to be. also, there is a ringing noise coming out of the sub, it is audible at lower levels, and i guess it gets drowned out when i play the sub louder. by the way my sub is a 4 ohm dvc, and it is hooked up to one side of the + - terminals. I have 2 of these subs, but i only hooked one up to see how it sounds. do i need to hook up both to see results? don't really think so, though.

any suggestions?

thanks

check all your connections, swap the rca's with another set, do you have both + an - POWER terminals used? The amp is bridged internally so all 4 power terminals must have power.

alotta problems are arising with the orion 2500d's (prior to the new ones) as of lately.

but yes, hook up both sets of power and ground terminals.

and use both speaker terminals since it's a mono amp. don't try to "bridge" it.

i had it wired at 3 ohms and my dub7 barely moved. it's better at .5 or 1ohms. it's most efficient then.

Is this a new amp, or used?
Have you used it before, to validate that it works properly?
It is supposed to be brand new, i got it off ebay from audiozone, they're located in FL, have you heard of them?

anyway, i am trying to get an exchange with them if they would read their email.

as far as testing it I took it to a local shop and they didn't want to test it. I couldn't find a shop that actually deals Orion down here except for one dude, but I found him when I had him tint my windows. I'll try to talk to him about it.

Nope, never heard of them. Did you get a warrenty? Since its eBay I would assume he is not an authorized dealer...

Is it possible for you to put it in a friends vehicle?

I checked the site from where i bought it from and it said nothing about a warranty. But i saw a later auction that ended earlier this month and it said they would only do exchanges, which is what i want, and no cash refunds.

as far as putting it in a friends car, not too many guys in hawaii have a set up like this, and i don't know any except for a few car audio shop workers.

u guys are saying that all 4 speaker terminals have to be used right?.........but what if u only have 1 sub?.....do u do a coil to each side or something? (assuming its a dvc)

and what if its only a svc sub?......how would u manage that?.........jus curious

x2, my amp is the same way and I am 'bridging' it.

Since they are essentially the same channel what is the difference...?
