Not helpfull and just incorrect. Depending on the box size and tunning frequency and a hole butt load of variables. Lets just say keep the gain down.sealed...yes...ported no
I totally agree with noob...i've had both d2 and d4...the orion really warms the d2 in no time at over half gain sealed...the sub doesn't get half as warm wit ported just because of the air movement that keeps the coils cool...and as for my information half ass backwards...bs...its obvious that a sealed box is going to be like a microwave oven compared to a ported that allows air movement...considering i've already done this myself to a xxx d2...1500 rms for a sealed application is plenty...these subs are pretty **** efficient...ported it can take that 2500...all depends on ur habits of how long and hard u play it.lol, everyone seems to not think about this, is your XXX one with dual 4vc's? If it's d2's then it may be too much thermally and common sense would tell you to be carefull because that will make it reach it's mechanical limits very easily.
There actually isn't much difference in "heat buildup" between a sealed and a ported. The ported doesn't really run any cooler than sealed.I totally agree with noob...i've had both d2 and d4...the orion really warms the d2 in no time at over half gain sealed...the sub doesn't get half as warm wit ported just because of the air movement that keeps the coils cool...and as for my information half ass backwards...bs...its obvious that a sealed box is going to be like a microwave oven compared to a ported that allows air movement
I think that is honestly the first time I've ever heard someone call the XXX efficient.these subs are pretty **** efficient
