Order of Installation?

Hey, eventually i'm going to buy all of these things listed for my first system. See what you think.

Alpine IVA-D310 HU

2 12" Alpine Type R subs

an amp for the subs, don't know which one yet.

Rainbow CMX Kick Speakers front, proably coaxs for the rear.

an amp for the speakers, again, idk which one.

What do you think, if you have any amp suggestions, then i would appreciate them.

But my main question is, out of all of the items, in what order would you install them? thanks.

Depends how much money you have to start out with. If you have it all, then buy it all at once... lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If not, most people start out with the headunit, as most aftermarket speakers will sound like crap run off the stock deck. After that, I'd add the sub and the sub amp, then the components and the component amp, if you were going to do it one at a time. That way you can run the stock speakers off the new deck, and have a sub to add some extra low end, then eventually step up the the upgraded components and round everything off nicely. I usually don't piece systems together like that as my OCD fires off pretty bad and I have to have everything RIGHT NOW! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

As far as amp suggestions, depends on whether you are going to run the components active or not. Active, in case you don't know (not insulting you) is where you ditch the passive crossovers that come with the mids/highs and use an active crossover (either on the deck or the amp- in your case, most likely the amps bc that deck doesn't have one built in), and run each mid off one channel and each tweeter off one channel. In this case, you'd need a 4 channel amp for the front speakers. Otherwise, a 4 channel amp could run the components up front using the xovers that come with them, and the other 2 channels are available for the rear coaxs. Depending on what you're going for (SQ, etc) it may be better to run the components actively off a 4 channel amp and just forget about the rear speakers altogether. I've been super happy with the Alpine MRV-F545 4 channel, and the MRD-M1005 is more than enough to run 2 Type R 12s. It seems like you have an Alpine theme so I'd suggest those amps. Hope that helps,

Mike

Heres how I'd go about it. Figure out your wiring. Get your head unit, wiring, and deadener. Install the head unit, and run your wiring + deadener. Get all this in order, so you dont have to rip out the interior 2 or 3 times to get stuff in.

I would install HU > run wires > deaden car > install speakers > setup sub and box > figure out where to put amps > connect amps > mount amps > Connect wires to speakers > install sub/connect wires

My first step?

Figure out what I'm getting.

No sense in bothering with it all if you might change your mind mid-way through the install.

Buuuut, if you at least know what kind of speaker setup you'll be doing (passive vs. active) then you can run all your wires. That would be my very first thing; strip the car completely. Remove all seats, carpet, etc. Then lay deadener (if you so choose), and then run EVERY wire you will use. Make sure to leave extra at the end for those "just in case" moments.

I;'m still not completely sure about what active and passive mean, but i'll search and find out. when it comes to deadening, i was just going to dynamat the trunk, is it really necessary to do more?
