I am currently running a Kicker DX500.1 amp to 2 12" JLW0 8 ohm subs. At the moment I have a wired in series which I believe is producing a 16 Ω load.

Just wondering if I would be better off running them in parallel down to a 4 Ω load or is it's OK to keep them at 16 Ω ?

There's nothing wrong with that but you're severely limiting your output capabilities. If you're satisfied with how it sounds now, then it doesn't matter. If you're trying to get more output, then yes you should wire down to 4 ohms.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

Yup , the dsp should have input sections, it may have one for sub? Hu to dsp. Dsp to amps, amps to speakers. Probably help you to draw this all...

Box rise, more accurately, impedance rise, is the reactive load changes the woofer exhibits at different frequencies and it will happen, it's...
