Optimal Settings for MRP-M500 and (2) P1S410s

I'm gonna be getting my box finished up on Tuesday, hopefully for my 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" P1S410s so I'll be hooking those up to my MRP-M500 shortly thereafter. The box will be sealed and the subs are 150w rms and 300 peak - I'm wiring them at a 2ohm load and the amp can put out 500w at 2ohms. So I'm wondering what the optimal settings would be for the amp so it'll put out rich, deep bass.

Thanks!

I would be careful on the gain with that alpine as thats a strong little amp. Whats the preout voltage on the jvc HU? When i had it on my pioneer with 4v outs i think i had it about half. I would leave it halfway and see how that works out for you. Pics of the install? I miss my little M500 too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The voltage is 2.5V on my HU. I'll take pics when i get the box in...I've got a PoS Sony Xplod hooked up to it right now that I had lying around the house from my bro's previous install. The problem is - one of the soldered joints or w/e has to be pushed down for it to work...it's a real PoS! So it only worked at first for some reason. Anyway...yeah I will post pics when I get the box in there and all will be good! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I probably will end up using it...I just don't have a box to put it on yet. Haha. But I haven't taken it off of the mount, if that's what you're asking. It will most likely be screwed into the box.

ACtually I have that amp at 4 ohms to one Pioneer Premier 10 for 300 watts rms. If I remember right the min. input sensitivity level is 4 volts. It's wierd, dont know why but everything Ive ever connected it to, the dmm and my ears always put the gain dial at about half to 3/4 the voltage rating of the hu, give or take. When I had a 2 volt head unit the gain was at something like .75 volts. When I had my 4 volt it was at about 2 volts. Now I have a 5 volt head unit and it's not too far past the 2 volt mark. And I remember at least one other member on here having the same experiences with it. Wierd cause my eclipse unit's gain dial is never far off from numerically matching the head unit's voltage output. The DMM puts it there, not me, and when I re-check by ear there's never audible distortion at my volume ceiling.

You'll have to trust your ears on this one but if you try to do it using some sort of method and the dial ends up at something like .75 or 1 volt instead of 2.5 to match your head unit, realize that it may not necessarily mean there is some sort of defect with your particular amp.

Thanks for all the input so far. Anybody got anything else? I want to know so I can tune already know what to tune it tomorrow when I get it set up! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
