Opti2000D ratings don't add up

IIRC CA&E also "reviewed" a si mag and said it was a d4 and that a company out of florida made it.... i take anything in those magazines with a grain of salt. also Opti runs full page ads in there that are not cheap last i checked

The opti2000d will do rated power given the right circumstances, you should know that hicks.

The opti line is some of the best stuff lanzar made, and the 2000D is no exception. I've seen people get 6kw out of the 4000D's before.

Funny how you get 2500 watts out of a sundown 1500D at 1 ohm, yet I only get 1200. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I don't know what the hell 1500D you're using, but it sure aint one that I've ever seen. 2500 watts at 1 ohm? You smoking crack? Or did you forget to mention that was 1 ohm REACTIVE (probably .25-.5 nominal?)?

twas 1 ohm reactive, its the same power we got in the BTL 12 test. 100 volts 50 amps out of a pair . wired @ 1 per pair .5 per sub. also who pissed in your wheaties this morning?

I still dont think opti is quality stuff. never will

Well, i think it was enlightening how you "forgot" to mention it was 1 ohm REACTIVE in your original post.

A 1 ohm load and a 1 ohm reactive load are two completely different things.

Don't knock equipment you don't use (ever have used? ever experienced?) that has been tested by other reputable people.

Nobody pissed in my wheaties, I just don't like people spouting off numbers without giving the REAL facts behind the test.

And last time I checked, wasn't the 2000D like half the price of a new 1500D?

meh, no use arguing with you. Your always right. I give up on this one. Opti is and never will be " quality " IMO

did you see how overrated they posted the opti6000 to be?

Said it did in the low 5000's iirc.

x2

I was pretty surprised that someone who was supposed to be so highly regarded posted something so ignorant.

325 on the boards pretty much anytime u wanna buy them
it did 2500 watts @ 1 ohm... exactly 1 ohm. (100/50)/2 = 1 ohm.

$370 for a brand new one, from an authorized retailer.

And like I said before, 1 ohm nominal and 1 ohm reactive are two COMPLETELY different things. So why don't you add that to your little equation.

meh, no use arguing with you. Your always right. I give up on this one. Opti is and never will be " quality " IMO
Arguing? Who's the one claiming big numbers without telling the whole story??

I got 4000 watts out of my zx2500 at .25 ohm on 18 volts

Did you "give up" or just realize that this is a battle you can't win?

You come into this thread about an amp that you've had zero experience with, talk shit about it, use that bashing to plug a product you run/support without even giving the correct info, and you're trying to act like I'm the bad guy here? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Strange, i paid less than that for my opti brand new...
x2. I payed less than that BNIB shipped. Sad to see my simple question turning into a "look at the shit I sell" thread.

If you haven't had experience with the equipment, don't give your opinion on the quality. I'll gladly keep my Opti and let it do its job beautifully. No need to jump on the sundown bandwagon.

I notice alot of people claiming that their sundowns do 2500w@1 ohm, but what they dont tell you is at what distortion rate. I personally benched 2 sundown 3000's and found that @ 14v they do about 3200rms berfore clipping, and yes i used a fluke clamp and a fluke vom and a scope to get results. I also benched an opti 2000 and got 1994 rms @ .7 ohms before clipping, i'd say its a very good amp. it's rated @ 2000 @.5 ohms, and im sure it will do that at that impedance. for the price the opti is a good choice, and just for the record i have a few friends that run sundown and are happy, not trying to knock sundown just stating that alot of the numbers you'll see regarding these amps are taken with no measured thd with the gains wide open. I don't understand why people insist on ragging on a brand or amp that they have no experience with.
