Opinions on new speakers for the boat

Right now I have 2 sets(4 mids an 4 tweets) of 5.25 MB Quart components on the tower of my boat. Theyve done the job, but its time to upgrade. Im looking to do another 2 sets of comps but 6.5s this time and something with a 1" tweet. The ED 6000 v.2s look good(only ($95 with discount), but havent heard a lot about em.Opinions? Also been lookin at some CDT CL-61A/TW-24. Opinions? Ill take suggestion also. Thanks

Check out the MTX Marine speakers. I was very impressed at their sound and construction. Definately worth looking at.

Ive heard mostly all of the marine stuff and dont like how they play. Either no midbass or the vocals on the mid are muddy. I guess what im looking for is something that can get loud. Wanna be able to hear the music more when i ride than i do now with the mb quarts. Each mid will recieve 100 watts.

Sounds like an enclosure/installation problem. You need to find some drivers that like enclosures and build one that they fit in.

the jl 7.7" components absolutely ROCK. gobs of low end, midrange is full and they get LOUD. downside is they cost a bit.

for somethign cheaper, but still sounds good, if you have the room the 8" bazooka coaxials do outstanding, especially with some power on them.
