opinions on my current setup

Got the eclipse sc6500 comps. they sound great, but for the same price range (180.00 ish) what others would you recommend? I'm ready to try something new (I will trade, have less that 5 hours play time on them)

H/U I got is perfect for now, component amp is perfect for now.

I have a single 10" Eclipse SW8102. It does a nice job, But what other drivers would you suggest for good quality, and slam your chest bass at the same time? Looking to stay single sub setup... Unless I decide to get this second eclipse, ill stick with that.

I was thinking of:

IDQ12V3.D4 (amp does 1000 @ 1ohm, leaves room for upgrade if I want to get a second one)

IDMAX D2 10" (If I can get myself to drop 400.00 on one subwoofer, hoping it by itself with 1000 watts will impress me)

Or.... 4 ID8v3's (need to figure out how to wire all 4 to a 1ohm load.. Give each an extra 50 watts over its RMS and put all 4 at an even 1,000 watts

Note: All of these are sealed applications.

I'm leaning more toward the 4 8's due to cone area. The IDMAX would be my holy grail at this point, but for thhe same price I can get the 4 8's, or two of the IDq 12's

Id get the 4 8"s personally, but really have no reason as to why

If it was me and had the money, would do the IDMax d2 off the 1000rms amp and have at it.

good point. i was mainly asking in hopes that some of the members here have ran a few of the setups i mentioned. just not sure what i want to do and what will sound the best. the 4 8's can sound good and get very loud, but will they sound as nice as a 12"IDMAX or god children the eclipse's? lol

I'd look into one of the new IDMAX's they only come in a 12" D2 and should be under 300 shipped last I saw.

Honestly if I was you, I would get two of the idqv3's.

Another vote for the IDQ's. They would have more dispalcement potential than a single Max, and likely sound better doing it.
