Hey, as some here know I am a ht enthusist cause I can't drive. I use a dual audiomobile evo-r setup with 1400 wts going to the pair. I am now getting bored with the same old sound and was looking at the stroker 18 as a replacement. Wondering what you all would think of this. Is it a good or bad idea? Box sizes and tunning frequency would be much appreciated. I am willing to give up a sqaure 24" blueprint in my room to dedicated the sub if that helps.

Thanks I would really appreciate any feedback.

If youre wanting something big and loud for home theater setup I think you would be way better off with maybe a brahma, tumult, tempest, or the maelstrom. Those are a few that I think would do way better than a stroker @ home audio. I really dont think a stroker has a low enough bass extension to do very good @ HT. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the stroker started off as a subwoofer for theaters...just to give you some reference, phoneman //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but yes, the tumult would be another good choice.

AH yes, Now I remember hearing that somewhere awhile back, But how well did it do?

I would like to know this also. I do agree that the low end might not be there as much (say 30 hz and down), but for general music listening purposes I would have to think it would fill in the low end nicely. The one MAJOR thing I am looking for is decent extension with excellent punchieness and clarity and control.

Let me know what you think. The adire lineup has been a focus of my attention of late so it could be a toss up.

I am still not sure that I would go with the stroker for home audio, not saying it wouldnt do good, It's just not the way I would go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but those stokers are awsome subs, Though they have more of an appealing for mainly being very loud.

Also if your going for a home audio setup then check out the plate amps in the DIY section of adireaudio.com . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

A 18 cv stroker would blow away a tumult in spl but it prolly woudnt sound as good depending on the box. if you want loud and low go with the stroker.

Snova your right im wrong, lets not argue, youll win.
Oh C'mon, I want to hear an argument //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif
