Opinions on a Kenwood KDC BT948HD?

I'm looking to replace an Alpine 9887. Great sound quality, but I've always had an issue withthe left rear channel. So after a year of trying to figure that out, I'm throwing in the towel and looking for a new deck. I've been looking at my local shop and the closest quality declared I can find to my Alpine is a Kenwood bt948hd. I was wondering if anyone on the board may own one and could comment on quality. Or if anyone has any ideas on another good 9887 replacement, I'm all ears.
