Only using 2 ch on a 6 ch amp

I have a JBL GTO 755.6 amp. This is a 6 channel amp; 4 channels are full range, and 2 are for subs only. Presently, I only have Arc 6000 component set installed and have them bridged so that they basically take up all the full range channels. I currently do not have a sub installed so the 2 sub channels are open.

I have had the amp running this way for a couple days. Is it safe to continue using the amp with the sub channels open? I do intend to get a 10 or 12 in a a month or two.

The amp is connected to a Premeir 860 and the gains are turned all the way down. I have the sub output switched off in the settings on the 860.

yeah, you should be fine. there is nothing wrong with not using channels on an amp. just make sure your other channels are bridged properly though

Sweet, thanks. I was thinking it should be ok - I wouldn't have done it otherwise. But then I saw this thread: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=286086 and cx-7's post freaked me out a bit.

Thats not what he meant, he meant running a 4 channel amp to one svc speaker which no amp is capable of, that I know of.
