One subwoofer or two..?

I already have a pair of 12" Alpine Type-R, which will be hooked up to a Recoil RED 1000.1, but I'm wondering if it would be best to just use only one of the woofers? Will it make a difference in having two subs if I'm sending the same wattage to it? One Type-R will be able to handle the amp.

Thing is.. I have an 02' Chevy Trailblazer, so two 12s would probably be more visually appealing in an SUV. What do you guys think?

Thanks for any responses.

2 woofers as long as they both see 500rms. Same overall power, but double surface area.

Also, many people have Type-R's doing fine on 1000rms. But others run into trouble. Running 500 to ea will make it a safe investment and louder.

Deff 2 subs on the same power will always be louder than 1. Why dont you go with 4 type rs at .5ohm? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cause he bought that amp from me and probably want to get used to it first //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif good stuff though

I have the same vehicle with 1 DD 2512 and mine gets LOUD, can't imagine two, I'm not sure how Type-R's sound but if you want more vehicle specific info go over to TrailVoy.com, everyone there is friendly and eager to help.
