One sub is louder than the other...

I just installed my two Rockford P3 slimline 10" subs powered by a Rockford T500-1bd.

The subs are dual voice coil 4 ohm...I have them wired in parallel.

One sub is louder than the other. Not sure why, they are brand new subs, brand new amp. I took my time wiring...but one is definitely producing more sound than the other.

Any thoughts?

maybe one of the coils is bad and one sub is presenting a 4ohm load...it would be quieter.
Exactly, just what I was thinking. Check the voicecoils, sometimes when your putting the sub in the box the wires may get disconnected. hopefully its just that. I had those P3 and don't think that amp is enough for those subs. I actually had 1 P600.1bd for each P3 and it worked great.

Ok...I'd like some opinions on the outcome.

I took it to the shop that I bought the speakers from...on a side note, I've always really liked these guys and had really good experiences with them...but I'm a little puzzled. What are your thoughts?

So they, as well, noticed that one speaker was producing more output...and said that it looked like they weren't firing together either.

So they pulled it in the shop.

I had it wired parallel parallel so that I could pull the DVC 4OHM speakers to 1ohm. The amp I'm using is 1ohm capable.

They said it wasn't wired correctly, so he rewired them to parallel series. They are now firing correctly and it sounds good...however, they are now no longer wired to 1 ohm and are pulling half they power from the amp than if they were wired at 1ohm correct?

Why would they have said that my parallel parallel wiring wasn't correct for those speakers? Now I'm pulling less watts right?

I don't think they were trying to jerk me around because he didn't charge me for rewiring.

Your thoughts?

It's a box I made...here:

If I remember correctly it was right around .80 cuft per speaker...which is right in the middle of the recommendation.
