I have a Scion tC with stock electrical. ATM I have a batcap in the trunk running a hifonics brutus 1200 amp. i am selling this amp to get a kicker 750 and the guy offered to throw in a 16v kinetic battery with it. If i replace the batcap with the 16v battery. what effect will this have on my electrical/ alternator? and will my amp be ok to run at 16v or will it drop to 14.4v by the time it reaches the amp? kind of a noob so all help is appreciated!

Unless you have an aftermarket 16volt alternator, you cant use that batt at 16volts. Your alternator will only charge up to about 14.4-14.6 volts, so it cant possibly (fully) charge a 16volt batt. But some, if not all kinetik batts can have a jumper run between 2 of the terminals (should have 3) and it can then be used for 12v (14.4) purposes. one of my kinetik 2400's is a 16v jumpered to 12v.

Im sorry, I misspoke, there should be 4 terminals on the batt. To run at 12v it should be jumpered like this:

Yes, the wire between the two closest terminals is the jumper.

The batt in the pic is using two 12 gauge speaker wires twisted together (not my doing), but anything like 8 gauge or higher should be fine.

What exactly are the voltages in the cells Holic? Also what is the jumper connecting? I assume it's probably changing how the cells are connected to each other (parallel/series)

each battery cell should be around 2.1-2.2 V at rest.

the jumper adds more cells in series to increase voltage.
