I dont know the old stories with ED, but from what I have seen all over the internet forum world over the past 1-2 years, they have had zero complaints. Isnt it possible they have surpassed their old reputation?

This sub is rediculous and a waste of money tho. I guess thats why they never produced it.

that would be never, and with the 13AV.2 coming out soon, you will seeing a lot more of ED. so everyone could stop saying "when are they going out of business" because its pretty stupid and childish.

My guess is that if it was called a "paper weight" was due to the fact it would not have been cheap, 4" coil with high inductance, more SPL oriented, which is not the group we try and market to.

IIRC he stated it was a paperweight because the basket wasn't designed to handle the weight of that motor, so in "regular" use the basket would eventually become disformed/break. It was never intended it to be a "functional" subwoofer and actually used consistently. He stated it was simply an exercise in motor design, used as a learning tool, and was originally sold more as a novelty item rather than a "working subwoofer".

This is going back a couple years but that's what I seem to recall from the conversations at the time.......
