I've been without a sub for 6 months now and just running components. I like actually hearing the music without the detail getting drowned out by the over whelming bass. However, now alot of my friends are running subs. They are running all dual 12" Kicker CVR's and dual 10" Apine Type R's all in prefab "Best Buy" boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif.

Now, I am thinking about going back with a sub stage. I want something that will blow thier "loud as hell" systems out of the water. I want to show them up. Some options I was thinking about going with were either:

- 2 12" Alpine Type R's for $230

- 2 15" Mach5 Maw-15 for $210

I am very open to suggestions. Afterall you all have way more experience than me. Just a little background...I had a single 12" Kicker CVR in a 2 cubes @ 34hz powered by a ProfileAP1000M for a year and was satisfied, but now I want something ALOT louder.

As far as a box...I was thinking to search and get some suggestions on what people have been running. I'm guessing it will be ported and around 1.75 cubes for each sub? Not sure though.

Budget for subs is $300.

Budget for amp is $300.

Mach 5's FTW. Also a good amp to power them that is within your budget http://sonicelectronix.com/item_9551_Hifonics+TXi1008D.html . If you are wanting to go ported with the Mach 5's then you are going to want around 3 cubes per sub.

Will one MAW-15 in a ported box getting "x" amount of power (not sure how much it will need, does someone have a recommendation) be significantly louder than one 12" CVR in a ported box getting 450RMS?

Werd, as long as its in a nicely made box, it should blow theirs away. Prefab boxes are s***.

Is that one badass sub the Mach5 MAW-15 in a custom ported box?

How much power will suffecient for daily driving?

i found 2 new 12" L7s for 275 and that would put them to shame but youd need a big ported box and an amp that will do 2000 watts daily.
