One of my buddies killed himself last night

I have been depressed for the last 7 years or so. No one gives a **** about that though. Not a single person -- least of all you sorry bastards.
Well, if that is the case, go ahead and ship me that amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

sorry to hear it. had a friend kill herself right after new years this year and it came as a total shock. definately not something thats easy to deal with.

i had a buddy that killed themself as well and all it did was rip their family apart. i carry a card that they passed out at his wake in my wallet that had his favorite band on it (the beatles) and a quote from one of their songs... "Let It Be, But Let It Not Be In Vein"..... ill have this for ever cause every time i look at it always reminds me that no matter how bad it is, there is aways light at the end of the tunnel.... sorry for your loss bro... my condolences

Dude had a history of depression, his wife and him suffered through 4 miscarriages. That alone was enough stress to destroy his marriage, but after the divorce he sunk pretty deep. He left a new girlfriend who told me today that she is pregnant with his child. Not sure of how it happened or what the final straw was.
Sorry to hear about your loss.

Not looking for sympathy, donations or anything else. I just want to give people here this advice....if you think you are depressed, please, go see someone. A counselor, a doctor, maybe a reverend or pastor. That is all
I hope anyone that's depressed is listening, and follows this good advise.

well, myself can speak from experience, depression is a ***** to live with. I still have my lows in life, just like everyone. I was so bad my junior year of highschool, my mom actually checked me into st bernards behavioral health, like greenleaf and all those mental institutes. It was like a jail for minors. I was put on like 4 different meds to treat my depression and suicidal thoughts..

I was 16 then, now 20 and have everything to live for nearly. But yes, the permanent solution is NOT the best answer to ANY temp solution 9/10 times this is true.

Sorry to here about your loss mang, may he RIP, and god bless his family and friends as well.

BE A FRIEND...... EXACTLY! you never know when your actions just may save somebody. something as simple as a smile or an act of kindness. i know so many of us are focused on money and other possessions, but at the end of the day its about the friends and relationships you have with people. how will people talk about you when you are gone? will you be missed? we all rip on each other here and think its cool or funny ( it may be from where you are sitting ), but we would all be better off if we all took the time to be a friend to somebody..... besides.... doesn't it make you feel good to do something nice for somebody?

Question:

It seems that many feel that the person had a contractual obligation to those around him. I don't really feel the same way. I do not owe it to my family members to live, nor am I obligated. They will suffer not financial distress nor be responsible for an transactions where my lack of performance will cause them distress. I have often heard that suicide is selfish. Is it? I do not feel that it is selfish....Do people I come in contact with owe me anything? Does my mother, brother, father actually owe me anything? Would there be significant difference if the eliminated contact with me through suicide or just perhaps never speaking to me again? I don't really see the difference.

But then again, my family is not close as many others. The family structure is more like four room mates than a family...but that works for us.

Not always. Have you ever tried helping and it ended up being more trouble than it was worth? I have.
