One Amp to One 2 ohm / 2 ohm sub - HELP!!

can I hook up this single sub to this 2 channel amp at 2 ohms?

The amp is a American Pro VS1405 2 Channel 2 x 130RMS at 2 ohms.

The sub is a 1022D TypeR. The wiring diagram shows that if you connect the neg to neg, pos to pos on the subwoofer, and then connect it to a bridged amp, it brings it down to 1 ohm. Is there a way to keep it at 2 ohms? Or will this amp even handle 1 ohm?

Thanks.

unless the amp states otherwise it will not be able to handle a 1ohm load. connect each voice coil on the driver to a separate channel and run it that way or if the amp is bridgeable intoi a 4ohm load you can wire the sub in series to 4ohms and run it as so. For information on how to do that refer to http://www.bcae1.com and while you are there go ahead and read the rest of it as well.
