One amp or two?

Is it better to have one amp powering two subs or one amp per sub? Ex, 2000W amp with two 1000W subs, or two 1000w amps with one 1000w sub each?

no difference. as long as the amps are sending the same amount of power and same cleanliness of signal it won't matter.

Thanks, but then I must have a problem, because I have two 12" pyramids @1000W peak, and I bought a two channel 2000W peak amp so id have max for each sub on each channel, but when its wired up, they both sound like crap, but when I put just one sub on a channel it sounds great... Their 4Ohm speakers and the amp says its rated for 2x 1000W @ 4Ohm

how do you have them wired? and how are your gains set?

Ok here's the issue the equipment is not good at all and your expecting far too much out of them. Honestly save some money and get better equipment read up or ask specific questions we will help but those subs are horrible.

They do sound great when i wire them only to one channel, they bang for the price i paid, but when i put both subs on, they both sound like crap, ive tried ajusting the gain, it sounds like nit that much power is going to them... The individual one sounds better than both combined. And ive got them wired noramly , i tried bridging them into series on the amp and same result.

if you a buy a good amp, then yes it is good to use one....if you buy a crappy amp, then you will need a 2nd crappy amp...which boat are you in?

Well i did want bass right now, and im in a boat where price isnt an issue, and i thought the amp i bought wasnt crappy, but maybe it is compared to what i could have because i didnt do too much research before i bought a legacy la2970-sl 2000W 2 channel amp.
