one 8 on 1500+ watts

2 dual 4's make a final 1 ohm load...will they be able to handle over 750 watts each daily?

if not id be more than willing to take some more SPL and not have to worry about beating on them.

 
so what are you saying...go the assassin route....or the DD route....personally ive never heard a SPL oriented woofer...compared to a SQ driver...

my setups have been an 15" type R ported, 18" Fi Q ported, 12" xxx sealed, and a 15" mag ported.

You can go either DD or AA...or SS. It really doesn't matter as all three are solid choices. If you're wanting to tune to 40hz and be loud, DD is the way to go in my opinion. If you want to tune 35hz or lower and are more focused on SQ, the AA or SS would be a better choice.

If I were in the market for 8's, I'd get the AA's. $100 shipped each is a solid price.

i just want to hear what icpurple has to say on this topic considering he owns relatively the same DD"s im looking at and seems to be tuning them quite low, as per a SQ application.
