on/off switch?

When i bought the truck 8 gauge was run into a toggle switch that turned the amp on and off.I just put 4 in so i know the switch cant handle that kinda power.could i hook the remote wire from my hu to the switch and the other part of the switch to the amp and have an on/off switch?

yeah i've done it but if u want it to be cool go to auto zone or something they have a box that handles for channel and comes with a remote its cool u can turn up to four amps on with just the push of a button and plus u dont have to cut holes for a toggle

just put it on the remote wire. it wont hurt nothing, and it will work. just put it in a place where no one can see it, like run the wire up the middle of ur vehicle and pop a lil hole in the carpet between ur seat and ur center console and have it there. or have it under ur dash.
