On/Off switch to amp

If you are wanting to wire an On/Off switch to am amp to where it can be turned on or off independently of the head unit whatever switch you use will need to be connected to the remote activation input on the amp.

Most commonly you would connect the head unit's remote turn-on output to this input so that the amp will turn on and off when the head unit does but I'm assuming from your question you're wanting to have independent control over the amp without the head unit telling it when to turn on and off? Is that correct?

yea, because there is some music i listen to that i dont really like the bass with so i was just going to put a switch in the dash and turn it on when ever i need it

Ok - well, to tell the truth, the easiest way (were it me at any rate) to do this would still be to use the remote turn-on output from your head unit but put the switch inline on the remote line.

Ergo: Remote Turn-On Output ---> into one side of a switch / the other side of the switch ---> to the remote activation input on your amp.

This way the amp would still only work if the deck was on while still giving you independent control of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
