That would be correct....what was Mark Fakuda's record tho? Something else many may not know.......in 1995 at a regional USAC event in pensacola there was a van there that blurped out over 162.5 (breaking the unobtainable barrier)........Anyone know what speakers they ran?

he actually got up to I beleive it was 159.6.....a friend of mine and fellow Orion fanatic had hit (unsanctioned) 159.8.......the van in Pensacola tho i was refering to was a Fury audio van. I have not heard much from them since, but I was standing right there and remember they did not get a record because of a battery problem and they could not do a second blurp.

Yeah with any luck I will be up and running before thanksgiving! So far the product list is pretty good too. Orion, Pioneer, Eclipse, Alpine, Kenwood, Sony(for the hype onlyLOL), Kicker, JL, JBL....these are the ones I have lined up already and are definate.....I am trying to see about Adire, Nakamichi, Macintosh (high class clientel around here!) I am also open to other ideas and such too tho the location is a bit small and I may or may not be able to carry too much on hand originally.

I signed up for the classes to get my MECP cert about four days ago. I'm supposed to be called about class placement between now and next saturday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I am seriously considering opening an install and retail shop after I get my certification and a little more experience under my belt, and was wondering how much I'd need for an initial investment. My uncle is a local real estate guru and owns an old service station I could probably rent at a decent price (he even mentioned letting me rent for a percentage of my gross profit for the first couple months!). I already have most of the tools needed for installs and a computer, but I was wondering what the cost of a few pieces of equiptment would run:

A Linear-X DB meter

A good CAD Box-building software suite

An osciloscope

A professional grade multimeter

I already have a pretty extensive tool kit: a few sets of standard and metric sockets (craftsman, of course), measuring tools, a nice soldering iron, several pairs of electricans wirestrippers and crimpers, a complete set of craftsman screwdrivers (including allen head and hex head) and my trusty old panel pullers. I also have an older craftsman table saw, a band saw, a router, a circular saw, a snap-on cordless drill set, an air compresser and a few impact wrenches. If there's anything else you could think of that I might need, let me know!

Also, how much should I initially invest in demo items and in-stock product?

LinX - 1600

CAD Box building- use WinISD Pro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Want to go nuts, get LEAP. Another 1600 Or LspCad, which is a little more cost friendly.

Good O-scope - 1000-3000

Good DMM - about 299, if you want a clampmeter style (I suggest it, great for benching alternators.)
