im new to car audio but my brother has been around it forerver,he has a certificate on is wall stating that he did 154db the system consisted of (1-old school soundstream 10.0,4 old school soundstream spl 15, an eclipse head unit walled up in a 87 chevy blazer)how is this possible? my friend has a kicker 2500.1,4 solo baric l7 walled up in a 96 chevy blazer he claims that he has never even came close to 154db.so whats up?are old school amps ans subs that much more powerful.

He was prob metered on the old TL... I think its like 4-6db off from the current one... So if your buddy is hitting 149 he is about the same as your brother

old school was metered with audiocontrol meters...new ones on term lab meters...the old audio control meters coukld vary 5dbs from show to show...and read about 3 dbs higher than term lab all the time...i've done 155's with 4 DD 1508's on an audio control meter on the dash in my CRX
