Hey all, bought this from a pawn shop for 60 bucks, have intentions of using it in an sq style build. It is missing the plexi cover that goes over the settings, any idea where I can get a replacement? Also, looking for any info anyone might have on them (number made, relative rarity in todays marketplace, detailed specs, etc) Its a Diamond Audio D4701. All I know really is it was made by Esoteric Audio, claims to be USA made. thanks!

Sorry about the terrible pics. A general lack of interest in photography will do that for ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

^ Probably not going to happen concidering Diamond has changed hands 2 times since those amps have been made.

Best bet is to buy a piece yourself and cut it to fit.

I thought robot underground used to have pieces for these amps.. but god I dislike them so so much, Id rather not deal with em if i dont have to!

At one point they were selling ***** working amp of these kind except without the pretty case, just the heatsink. I dealt with them before a few times and yeah, probably won't deal with them again.

PS - I'm the reason why they don't warranty their subs anymore. Sold me defective cones and I ended up folding them under high power and I told them I want free replacements and I pay shipping one way. A few days after that they added "no warranties" on all of their franken subs. They also fubared my USA-2000X, I'm still bitter about that.

defective cones? ya sounds like something they would buy for 2 dollars each and sell for 40 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That is very nice...I'd make a plate out of smoked lexan it won't chip like plexi
Good point. thanks for the tip!

Any more?

yah, i have made several clear covers. lexan, is your best bet if you are a first-timer. plexi takes some more skill, and acrylic is **** near impossible, like cutting glass, as far as how brittle it is....... however, acrylic will look the best the longest, and lexan will scratch the easiest. then on the other side- lexan will give and not break if you man-handle the amp, like in a daily-use trunk....... is that a little o-ring groove? you can get o-ring diy material at the parts store. it will make a difference with the vibrations....
