Old school PPI/Orion amp

I have the oppurtunity to purchase what is being called an old school ppi/orion amp and am somewhat confused on the signature series on the outside. There is a name "Charles Wieland" on the amp and i have never heard of him. I have been in touch with the Orion company today and the say that it is authentic after viewing the pics of the amp but cannot tell me anything else because it was supposedly a limited edition amp. here are some of the specs on it. Can anyone at all tell me anything about this amp and whether or not it is considered a good amp. I have been told that PPI/Orion amps are great amps and extremely underrated. This amp was manufactured in 1994.

Old School PPI/Orion 2 channel Power amplifier. Same color Scheme as the Orion NT amplifiers. Amp is brand new and fully functional. Just benched before listing. Please take a look at my pictures for detail, measures approx. 14 inches long. I have 5 of these, 4 are new and 1 is lightly used. If you’re interested in more than one, let me know and we can work that out.

These amps look really neat either in the sun or in low light, they just shine. The color is Metallic black and Purple, they look like Marble. Very very shiny. You have to see it in person to appreciate the colors.

Don’t snooze on this amp, you will never see another one like this, the quality of build is phenomenal!!!!!!! Built like tanks...Bulletproof. These amps were custom made in 1994.

I consider it an utter rarity to find amps of this vintage that are new. To me that adds TREMENDOUS value to an amp.

Check out the quality of build!!!! Exceptional Sound Quality guys. These older PPI amps have a SMOOTH sound that’s just incredible. Absolutely stunning in performance and looks. You won't be disappointed, and trust me, I know amps. These amps are 1 ohm stable (stereo)! It will produce 150 x 2 @ 4 ohms, 300 x 2 @ 2 ohms, and 550 x 2 @ 1 ohm stereo, and over 1000 x 1 @ 2 ohms. Spec. sheet indicates amp draw of over 87 amps into 1 ohm @ only 12 volts. Since the power supply is unregulated you can expect a fair amount more at the higher voltages found in a running auto. It also has built in crossovers; Low pass, Full pass, and High pass switch.

THESE AMPS WERE HAND-CRAFTED IN THE GOOD OL' USA!!!

the ntense series orion in that era had the purple marble finish I don't know of any PPI's though

I have no idea how to place pics on this site of the amp but it is a very very shiny purple/black marble color amp and looks to be extremely well built. I bought it on Ebay and the item # is as follows if you would like to view the pics of it. Item # 150250081537. I paid $244.00 for it and the seller says he has 4 more just like it that are all brand new. Please let me know something as i am wanting to power two 12" kicker CVR'S and am hoping that this amp will do it.

go to Ebay.com and then search option. put in the item # 150250081537. and yes i am the buyer not the seller but the seller says he has 4 more for sale, all brand new. the specs are listed in the original thread that i placed. by looking at the specs would it be enough power to run the 2 CVR 12" subs by Kicker. I appologise for the ignorance but i am running all Boston Acoustic equipment but am unhappy with the GT-24 Boston amp that is presently powering these two subs. It is an awsome amp just not enough power i fear. Please give true and honest advise as i am not all that learned in the Orion/PPi amps. I have been told by alot of people that they are awsome amps and very underrated. is this true?

yes they are awesome amps. Ratings are at 12 volts so when your car is on itll give even more power out. SHould give ur cvrs good power.
