any info on this amp, have a chance to buy for 200.00 in like new condition. i have a alpine 4 channel powering 165 focal components and 165 focal coaxel (polyglass). would that 2 channel phoenix gold sound better. i was thinking on just running front and back left to one channel and front and back right to the other channel. i know the pg amp is a awesome amp, just want to know if it would work good in this applacation., or if the 4 channel would work better. thanks

it's funny how when, anybody ask's what the best amp is, or something genaric like that, they will have 100 reply's from all the "experts". but i have asked a few specific questions and i get nothing. their has to be someone out there that knows what the f they are talking about. but i suppose this web site is probably just full of wanna be's, with strong opinions, about stereo equiptment they have only read about. i read through the forums and there will be a bunch of worthless posts by people with too much time on there hands spouting off about nothing clogging up all the air space. you guy's ****!!!!!

Wow... calm down, and to answer your question... I'd run your rears off the HU and run your fronts with that PG amp.

Well that amp puts out 150x2,does the alpine put out that much?run the 600.2 on the fronts,alpine for the rear or sell it and run the rears off the headunit.

You can search on here or google "phoenix gold titanium 600.2" you dont need us for that.

As far as running it on all 4 speakers I wouldnt. These amps like 4ohm much better than 2ohm from what I have read by SEARCHING a little.

Do as said above and just run the front speakers off it.

i figured that is the way to get stuff doen and it worked i guess. i am running my factory hu. like the looks, a lot better. i am using a mtx Re-q 5 to process the sound, i by passed the factory amp and crossovers cause they sounded like crap. so that is what i have to work with. the speaker are about 80 watts rms and that is what i want to run to them. my system is set up for SQ. that is my ultimate goal. that is what i am looking for, thanks for the input. i know the specs of the amp just guess i wanted to know if someone has ran the way i was talking about, the alpine is 60x4 rms. and sorry about the rant, just wanted to know who was serious about stereo.

if you're looking for SQ you really don't need the rears at all and run that PG on your fronts and as long as you don't go crazy on the gain you'll get some extra headroom with that power

i wonder if the focals will handle that much power. i guess i will just have to buy it and see if it sounds better than the alpine. but alpine's amps are hard to beat when it comes to powering mids and highs.

your speakers should be fine with that power if you don't get crazy on gains and keep your high pass at about 80hz with a 24db slope or 100hz with a 12db slope
