Ok, so I have this old school MTX thunder 5000 10 inch 8ohm subwooder, and I was wondering what spec's I need to look for in an amp for it.

Here is the info about the subwoofer http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/archive/thunderSub5108.cfm

I'm thinking I should get a 500 wat amp?

Also, what kind of box should I get for it? It's going to be in the back seat of my mustang, in the middle...or possibly in the trunk, but there is no air flow in the trunk so I'm not sure.

at least a 500-600 watt amp should do. I had that same sub in a 12" and was only giving it a 300 watt amp @4ohms which probably is doing around half that @8ohms and if definetely needed more power.
