Old school JL v.12W0

Did a quick search and saw a lot of hate related to these subs.

It just so happens that I have a pair of these subs from my high school days when bass mattered and SQ did not.

I am considering putting a modest system in my 2001 Subaru 2.5RS coupe. I am confident that these subs can give me the bass I need to make help make my music sound better. I have no desire to set any SPL records.

I doubt I could find a buyer for these subs so I would like to use one or both of them. I'm looking for tight clean bass and I guess it will all be dependent on the box.

Am I stupid for trying to use these subs? If not, what amp should I pair them with? The RMS rating is 125W (had them running off a 500/1 in high school //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif)

Put a PG 400.1 on them and they should get pretty loud for what they are. They did pretty well in that respect on not a lot of power. I like JL subs and have used them for a long time but I really didn't like the W0 series because they didn't have the SQ that is the JL forte.

I guess the search is on for an amp. Shouldn't be too expensive considering the low power requirements of these subs.

give em 200w... they'l take it easily.

I don't doubt it. Like I said, I had them running off a JL 500/1 in my CRX.
