Hi,
Been out of Car Audo since 1999! wow has a ton changed...holy smokes! again WOW!
So i'm putting in a system in my 1969 Z-28. Fully dynamat'd and insulated - pretty tight given 1969 do have mint components left over from my days in car audio and would like recommendations.
Head Unit: KDC-PS909 Kenwood Excellent S/N
In dash Processor: AudioControl 3.2 or 4.1 I have both plus and EQL if required
Speakers: 2 sets of Boston Pro 6.5's 1 set of MB QUART 6.5's seperates
Amp: PPI PC4100
Subs: Looking at Imagedynamics, JL, or Solobaric(My age) 8's or 10' in the deck in a box.
Amps: Here is where the question lies. I have a PPi PC4100 that I love but its only a 4 channel
I love mid bass and would like to have full 2 sets of 6.5's up front. Kick panels and doors running the amp in 2 ohm and then I want power in the rear for some fill on the deck. My kids like music so I will have to have music fill in the rear, not just subs. Then obviously 8' or a 10' in the deck in a sealed box. No truck mounted virbration contraptions. I'm also not looking to upgrade to mulitple batteries or ridiculous wiring systems. I'm also not going to pound all the time and its all rock now so the current draw shouldn't be stupid.
Here are my amp options and I'm looking for recommendations.
#1 Run the PC4100 to fronts and bridge to SUB (negative no rear fill option)
#2 Run the PC4100 to the fronts and run rear fill off PC4100 and bridge sub off rear channels
(this will required inductor for the low pass passive and something to tone down the fill speakers)
#3 Buy a PPI 650 and run everything off one amp (I like this idea but not a ton of power)
#4 Sell the old school amp and get that nice 5 channel Alpine(?) Na - want PPi
#5 Run the PC4100 for the fronts and the rear fill harder. Get a PC2150 for the sub(s)
This setup sounds cool but will it draw too much juice? I can get nice smaller PPi's cheap...
#6 Run the PC4100 for the fronts and the subs and buy a cheap new style small class d for rear fill
Please advise on recommendations given my equipment.
