Old School Basshead...now want something clean

Recently, the dash 3.5"' speakers blew in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They are Boston Acoustic's that came as part of the Premium sound package. I ordered a few kicker 3.5"s to replace them and that got me looking at car audio again. And now I want to redo my system a bit.

Like I said it's a Boston Acoustics's system with 3.5's in the dash, 6x9 in the door, and 6 3/4's in the back. I also have a Phoenix Gold xs2500 running off the Hi Level inputs and a box with 2 JL 10w0's. I just added that in because I had it from back in the day.

Anyway I am looking for something clean to replace the factory system with. I dont really care about bass any more...I mean I think 2 JL 10's is enough. I really don't want to replace the factory radio/nav unit either. If there is a good reason to dump my head unit or amp/subs I will hear you out, but I would rather keep the current subs and amp and the factory headunit.

If anyone could give me some suggestions on what to buy I would appreciate it.

I thought I might talk a bit about the system I had back in the day, when I was a kid. This would ahve been in the mid 90's.

2 15" Roc Fos Powers running off of 2 Punch 200 ix's.

2 Sets of Kicker componets, I cant remember the name but they were not cheap running of a Punch 4040.

Head Unit was some Alpine but I can't remember the name.

All of this stuffed in a 1989 Chevy Corsica notch back. It was a lot of fun though. I built everything myself with buddies and learned a lot. That's what makes car audio great. Thanks in advance for your help and thanks for having this web site...it got the juices flow again. Now I am off the look at the build log section...

lucky.... im tryin to blow the speakers out of my 2000 jeep grand cherokee so my dad will let me put new ones in THOSE ****ERS NEVER DIE! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

I would do away with the factory 3.5s, run you a nice set of 2 way components in the front and some matching coaxs in the back for rear fill, off a decent 4 channel. Im sure those 10's get decently loud in an SUV anyway so i see why you wouldnt mess with them. Look into a set of diamond D3 components and coaxials for the jeep, theyre on ebay right now at about 50$ a set, and audiopipe 1000w 4 channel amps are around 100$, ive had good experience with them too.
