i work at a hospital and see crazy stuff like this every day. it is my opinion that all drivers over the age of 60 be required to pass a simulator test. an eye sight test alone doesn't tell the whole picture. i have seen people who can barely stay upright in the walker, can't find their car in a 20 car lot, and don't have enough strength to open their own car door.... get behind the wheel and speed off. sure, they can see the person/child/car that just walked out in front of them, however, they don't have the strength to mash the brake or turn the wheel.

My grandpa in Poland drives a 607 peugeot, which is the flagship for the peugeot company (big car). Well hes driving in these 4 tiny laned roads and what tends to happen is that he randomly starts slowly veering off to the other lane. He has caused some one to drive off the road and almost die because of it. Scary scary.
