okay, i recently posted about the p1500.1 mono crunch amp. I am having a problem with it shutting off after running a 1ohm load for like 1 min on vol 30. My subs hit fine and then bam, amp turns off and no power to it. i then have to take out my fuse and and put it back in. i thought i fixed this yesterday, but didnt. i have 2 12"s wired up for a 1 ohm load. 4 gauge power and ground cabled. after market battery and alternator. the remote light stays green then blinks to orange when the bass hits and then eventually shuts off. i am stumped. will a cap fix this? i am thinking 1500 rms is to much and my amp cant keep up with the battery. so maybe it shuts off? i need help here....

note: my amp runs one of my subs fine at 2 ohms 750 rms. no problems. once i try to put 750 to BOTH subs totalling 1500 rms, i have problems. what do i have to do to make both work? i am pretty sure this amp can put out 1500 rms. can someone clarify that for me as well? thank you.

It may be your 4g wire or a weak ground. 1500RMS is cutting it close for 4g and the high current could be too much for a weak ground. Have you checked the heat of your amp when it cuts off? Is it too hot to touch?

have you done the big three?

yeah it gets pretty hot after it shuts off... what does this mean? and how do i get a stronger ground? i put the terminal under a bolt in the trunk after i scraped the paint. could this really be it? and how would i fit 1/0 g wire into a 4 g wire terminal that the amp says will fit.?

Most amps can handle 'pretty hot'. I'd think it would have to be too hot to touch to shut off. However, low voltage/bad ground can cause an amp to overheat as well.

By scrap the paint I assume you used sandpaper? We'd probably need a picture to tell you if that bolt is good for the ground or not. Look to see if the metal under the bolt is part of the main metal piece that makes the floor or at least is welded to it. You can always just try another bolt.

Gauge reducers are sold or you can just buy a distro block that has 0g input 4g output.

i had both subs wired up at the only way 2 dvc 4ohm subs can be wired for 1 ohm. i am starting to think that my p1500.1 can't even put out 1500 rms. can anyone tell me if it does? is crunch over rated?
