Ok who is trying it

acetone is a harsh chemical SOLVENT capable of eating through paint, rubber, plastic, ect. The components of your fuel pump, fuel lines, gaskets, piston rings, oil, and everything else will all be affected in some way since they were not desgined to run on chemical solvents.

Pure acetone also runs about $30-40 dollars a gallon, in bulk. That would mean to add one cup in your gas tank, your spending another $2-3. That plus the wear on your engine components, does not equate to efficiency.

Acetone eats plastics. plastic hoses, filters, etc will be totally ruined. Trying to eek a few more miles per gallon will probably lead to some big problems.

dude its mixed with gasoline... it wouldnt hurt anything it aint like its pure acetone to the car

^^^your a moron! you are adding pure acetone! Your saying it is mixed with gas so it has no negative effect???? but turn that around, if it's soo diluted by the gas how can it have such a positive impact? Suddenly all the bad parts went away and your left with a mircle SOLVENT that boosts gas mileage and performance ahahahah

No matter what your affecting the chemical properties in your gas tank, plus your burning it (altering it again), if you think that will not have any effect but good, then you are nieve.

Lets see how many people start pulling all the weight out of their trunks on this forum, haha
lol pull the subs and you will save enough money in gas milage to buy them retail... in like 100 years.

Complete idiot... He might have heart attack if he looked at some of our gas mileage numbers.
^^^^I get 9 miles to the gallon on my 2004 f-150^^^^ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Wow you are a moron. Chemicals can be organic or inorganic.....If you had a real education you would know this from the class titled Organic chemistry

There is very little, if any, chance of damage to your car by doing this. I know several people that have tried in numerous vehicles.

Of course it doesnt add mileage or offer any benefit either, but to say you will ruin something is uneducated.

the only protion of my post that was incorrect was the word chemical, it is in FACT organic, but still considered a SOLVENT.
just because it is organic doesn't mean its not a chemical. Gas is an organic chemical as well.

and do you know what a solvent is? gas itself is a very popular solvent. And the most popular solvent of all is water, I don't see everyone up in arms about that.

It all depends on what the solute is
