Ok to tempoary use 8 gauge power wire for Kicker 750.1?

So heres my issue. I currently have a run of 4 gauge power wire connected to my speaker amp. I'm adding a kicker 750.1 to power a cvx so I was going to split the 4 gauge into another two 4 gauge wires using a new Stinger distribution block I bought. However, I dont have any fuses for it, and its going to take a couple weeks for them to get here if I buy them from Ebay. I do happen to have another distro block, but it has two 8 gauge outputs, with 40 amp fuses in it. Will there be any problems if I connect 8 gauge power to both amps? I know I wont get full potential out of the kicker amp but I could turn down the gain until I get it hooked up properly

if they're both fused, and you keep the gain down, no. No problem.

So how many watts can I get out of 8 gauge wire? They will only be 3 or 4 feet in length.

8 gauge is good for ~55A. Your fuse will blow at a little over 40A sustained.

i recall its volts x amps = watts might be wrong cant rember or if its 12 watts per 1 amp

I = current

W = watts

40*14v = ~550w
