OK so i have 2 type r 12 4ohms and was wonderin if a Kicker zx1500 would be ok for these subs and how big would the box have to be i want them ported thanks in advance.

are the dual 4ohm voice coil, OR old school single 4ohm voice coil, what modle number are the subs

your amp puts out 1500watts at 2ohms, IF u have two dual 4ohm subs, then u need to wire them to a 4ohm load, as this amp puts out 1000watts on a 4ohm load, it IS not 1 ohm stable so becareful on the wiring.

wire them like this

IF u have single 4 ohm subs it will place a 2 ohm load on your amp, and it will put out 1500watts, so be carefull settin your gain

also as for box size and tuning. it seam that 2.5 cu ft per sub at 32Hz works well for the NEW type Rs, SOOOO 5 cu ft at 32 Hz would be ideal for them, also they can take more then the 500 watts there rated for (im asuming u have the new 05 and up type R) hopefully u have a dual 2ohm subs and can use your amp to is full potential

they are duel voice coil the new models is there a one ohm stable amp thats pretty cheap???

4ohms =( but got em for christmas cant complain yahh now that i have the money for the amp and box dont know what to get..

Secondly, it would be an utter-waste th wire that zx1500 at 4 ohms. He would probably get somewhere in the nighborhood of 750W RMS and 375 per sub.

To the OP, Beef up your electrical with at least the big 3 in 1/0 and consider a small battery in the back and wire the subs to a final 1ohm on the kicker..
