so, i remembered i had a non-working 12" powered home theater sub in my shed. went out to see if i could salvage anything from it and BAM! it has a 3" aero with flared ends. so i took out the aero and salvaged the peices. nice score IMO since flares cost ~ 10 bux each. also ended up with a 12" sub(next box build, lol) rated at 200W(kinda meh, but i can use it as a "subsonic" fill in my livingroom).

anyways, i got the box laid out the PVC cut, and set up a day to use my stepdads table saw. now i just need a way to mount the port to the box. i plan to make a small brace for the port on the inside near the end. the enclosure will be 3/4" thick and im looking at using a roundover bit to make a flare for the outside.

will making the hole a tight fit/using silicone to seal around the inside be enough to hold the port securly? or would using finish nails fired from inside the tube into the wood as well as the silicone be a better idea?

Matt
