Ok, hopefull final decision. Help me choose my ID sub...

I'm just going to continue using my MRV-F345 running my comps passive for now and bridge the rear channels to power the sub. I will either get a PDX-5 later or go for a PDX4.100 and 1.600 to run the comps active and give the sub 600w. My current amp birthed at 104w a channel, but rated at 75x4 or 75x2 + 300x1 @2ohm. So I'm thinking I have about 350-400w from this amp. I'm stuck between:

Most likely sealed whichever direction I go, about .75 ft^3; will consider ported if someone helps me make the enclosure...so?

Are the Qs worth it that much more than the regular IDv3s? Also, is 300-400w enough to push the Qs? Which would you do in such a small space?

I am in the same situation as you, looking at the same subs. I have gotten a little help and from what I hear, if you have the money the IDQv3 is the way to go for SQ performance. I am interested in 8's, but cant get much feedback on them. My guess is that the 12's will hit lower notes than the 10's, and the 10 will hit lower than the 8's. The 8's will have more volume than a single subs setup with a 10 or close to a 12. That is what I have concluded over the past few weeks studying, however, I am far from satisfied with the info and would love more feedback on this.

You want the most cone area and really good SQ the twelve ID is what I would take. It has 17mm of xmax over 1" linear peak to peak excursion. Save yourself the dough and get the ID12D? V.3 should be well worth it. the IDQ has 19mm of linear one way excursion, that amount of output is inaudible compared to the $100 price difference. make sure you get the v.3 and your set.

Ok thanks. So the ID12 should have pretty equivalent SQ to the ID12Q? What about box size. If I go with a 12, it will pretty much have to be sealed...
