ok i have a treo ssi12 and im running a jl audio a1800 on it at 2 ohms,,on the way home today it started smelling funny and when i pop the trunk it was real bad,,i could smell it coming from the vent in the box. and it was putting out heat in the vent,,is it fried? i mean its still hittin good but not as loud as it was when i first got it,,help me out

take the sub out and check the coils using a dmm or multimeter, whats the vc config on the woofer>?

they are dual 4 ohm sorry,,guess i should have said that

ok so take the woofer out use a multimeter and check what the coils read, they should obviously be close to 4.0 on both sides if its a dvc woofer. 3.3 minimul I would guesstimate
