I wear HJC myself now.
However, when I was ran over by a jeep and smashed into a curb head first(all at the same time mind you) I was wearing an Icon. It did its job just fine. I had no head injuries what so ever. Now, with that said it does make a big difference how you go down.
I went down at 5 mph from a highchair(clutch cable broke and whipped me off, landed on the back of my head) with an Arai on and got a concussion and when the helmet cracked from impact I got a minor contusion.
They all do their job(some "may" do it better then others) but A helmet is better then no helmet at all.
