ok Dads turn for car audio......

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe with those audison amps you can run active without an seperate crossover unit. You can do that with the zapco I believe as well though. Have you thought about running active?

Like I said, I have no experience with Zapco products but I have heard lots of good things, and only good things. If you can get them 50% off i would do that.

Yea leaning that way as my buddies car sounds great and he runs them. He has them tweeked using his PC and those DCS zapco amps. He does run active with them and his denon HU. I am going to do the install myself though so the install will be less then a steller sq install for sure. That is the only thing I am worried about dropping a ton of money and then not having it professionally installed and not sounding like it could. I DEF want to do the install though as I have found it pretty fun doing the sons car.

Maybe I really need to look into these are just pull the trigger.. He made me a hell of a deal on a set of these the other day. Hes the same one with the zapco deal.

Ok just had a guy I know offer me his 8w7 in a ported box with 250/1 for 350.. Should I bite on that for the sub? I have been thinking and since I am doing the install its def not going to be full SQ. SO now I am thinking decent sq/spl. Then go with the Clarus and call it good with a zapco 2 or 4 channel for the comps? How do you think it would sound overall? I currently have a p7600mp for the HU I have had a few yrs so I might upgrade that also.. If I go this route should I use the crossovers from the comp set or use the zapco for the processing of the comps?

Trying to decide if I should bite on the 8w7 complete deal I posted above?
It'll sound good but it just depends how much spl you are looking for. The w7s are great subs but 250w and a single 8'' won't be all that loud imo. You can find a pretty decent sounding setup that will get louder for $350.

I wouldent jump on that. Think about it for a day or two and ask yourself again if you want it. The 8" W7 will put out alot for an 8. And I mean alot. It is a 500WRMS sub though and you would only have 250 for it. If He would sell you the sub by itself I might say go for that.

yea the 500 is the danger zone. I would run the optimum though. I am looking at other options as well.. I guess I could change the tone to sq/spl sub combos but not wanting to run a ton of rms if I do not have to.. Would like to be able to run 1 batt and stock alt so around 1000-1200 total rms for both amps. I already did the big 3 to get ready. I do have a HC2000 coming and I currently have an extra HC600 also.
