ohm load

Ohms are a way to measure the resistance of an electrical current. Each speaker has a certain resistance, and by hooking them up in different ways, you can either increase or decrease the ohm load. Greater power can be achieved at lower ohms.

how do ohms work im gettin a power acoustik A3000DB and im wonderng does the amp have a ohm settin or how do i know how much power i can get to each one i dont understand??
i applaud you on a most powerful amp my friend. PA = great stuff. Your able to wire the sub and amp via wiring. say teh sub is a DVC 2ohm. Thats means you have to wire it in either series or parallel. Meaningpositive to neg to pos to neg. You'll be given a load of 4 ohms on the amp. the next is parallel meaning the wiring is set to pos to pos and neg to neg, the wiring is in the form of a parallel configuration. I don;t explain ti very well but this will help:
