ohm load question

here is the forumlas to figure out vc comfigs

Parallel wiring=lower resistance

Rt= (R1 X R2)/(R1 + R2) (note / means divide)

RT= Total speaker resistance (or Ohms)

R1= Resistance in speaker 1 (or Ohms)

R2= Resistance in speaker 2 (or Ohms)

example if you have 2 8 ohm subwoofers and want to wire them in parallel

(8 X 8)/ (8 + 8) = 64/16

RT= 64/16 simplified

RT= 4 so wired in parallel 2 8 ohm subs would yeild 4 ohms of resistance

Series= Higher resistance

RT= (R1 + R2)

Example again with 2 8 ohm subwoofers

RT=8+8

RT=16

if your using dual vc speakers you add the vc resistance of each sub together.

example using 2 dvc 2 ohm speakers

R1= 2+2 (each vc is 2 ohm)

so R1=4 and the same for R2 then plug that into the formula

I use (one divided by ohms) plus (one divided by ohms) = one divided by answer

(the one is constant)

Example- 4- 4ohm woofers parrellel

(1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4)=1/answer

(.25+.25+.25+.25)=1/answer

(1)=1/1

=1ohm

3-4ohm woofers parrallel

(1/4+1/4+1/4)=1/answer

(.25+.25+.25)=1/answer

(.75)=1/.75

=1.3333...ohm

Parrallel is A+B+C+D

4+4+4+4

16ohms

Same stuff as above just simplified abit.
