I know how you feel, when we were rounding up dogs there was this little girl who absolutely loved her monster pitubll and was crying her eyes out when we started taking him away.

I believe the parents did it hoping we would feel bad and allow 'Cuddlebug' (dogs name) to 'slip through the cracks' and not take him but when you have seen one sob story (esp from pit bull owners) you have seen them all. I was even 10x worse putting him into the box with the other to be euthanized.

The good news is I picked up a dog walking the streets last week and it was a retriever named 'Snooky' I recognized the address and remembered it being Cuddlebugs address.

Seems that a few weeks after we had to put Cuddlebug down they went to the local animal shelter (as per my suggestion) and were able to get a 10 week old golden retriever and when I brought him back to its owner the little girl saw me pull up and came running to give the dog a hug as if the monster once known as Cuddlebug never existed.

Cliffs: When we come to take your pit bull to seize and euthanize it don't cry and make a big scene, we are just doing our job. If you are that sad about it you can always get a pound dog for free and I highly suggest golden retrievers.

I think anyone with a dog that is over 30 pounds when mature should have to go through some training class or something in order to learn how to raise and treat a dog.

I've seen some mean *** golden retrievers, and some really nice rotty's. It's not the dogs fault. It's the retard who doesn't know how to raise a dog who goes out and buys a pit and doesn't know what he is doing.

Why do people choose pits when they are wanting a dog? With all the other breeds out there why pick one that will eat your babies?

My cousin WAS mauled by a golden retriever, true story! No certain type of dog is mean, it's all in how they are raised. Actual facts from studies were already posted on this thread, are you really that ignorant? Pits are no meaner than any other breed, stupid people just choose that breed to do stupid things with. Banning any given breed won't fix that problem and those types of owners will simply find another dog to treat like shit and make it grow up to be mean. Heck, it's not even that hard to do, with breeds even bigger and stronger than pits.
