There was actually some talk of it here also--APBT's are common yet most of the dog's referred as "pit bulls" are not truly APBT. What irks me is how can you ban one breed of dog--yet there are many more breeds that--if taught/treated badly, etc. and are actually capable of doing serious harm are less scorned. I do understand that in recent years they've been brought to the center stage because of accident's but look back @ 5-10 years ago when you had other dog breeds attacking humans. There is NO way this bill will be passed.

If someone tried to take and kill my dogg cop or no cop he or she would be dead I think of my dog just like a human and will blow the brains out of the back of a pigs head if they came a knocking

I have grown up raising put bulls, owned all of them since birth, very very loyal dogs. My favorite Crunch is almost 17 years old, best dog I ever had, a regular lassie of a dog. he tries to sit in your lap and he is 90+ Lbs, best dog ever, full blooded pit.....

People who raise dogs to fight need seperate legislation and need to be held accountable for the shitttty life they give their dogs...

or they get killed by a drunk driver, methhead, crakhead, broke *** with a gun, my pits are big babies, and grew up with little kids... I have seen many types of dogs with much worse temperments, pits are a product of their enviroment, put shiit in you get shiit out, raise a lap dog you get a lap dog, just because they can go either way doesnt mean we should demonize all of them, most of these these dogs are part of their family, I can see people getting pretty upset over legislation like this.

that is true i also own a pit bull and hes not a fighter or mean. he plays with anybody! he was attacked by a german shepard the other day when the shepard escaped out his yard.

german shepard are vicous and cannot be tamed i say we ban them too.

I used to work as an animal control officer in Rockville MA, when I was 18 they outlawed them and I was one of the people who used to dig ditches to throw them in after they were put down (They were put down in groups of 6) and it was kind of sad at first but realizing for every pit bull you are burying that you are probably saving someones life or at least preventing one of these vicious animals from attacking and maming someone it really made it all worth it.

In all we put down about 1100 pitbulls out of 5000 that were registered in the city. I guess the rest either moved or put them in no-kill shelters and as odd as it sounds I kind of feel almost like a hero for saving all those people even if I never get acknowledged for it and they did not know it still makes me feel like I did something to help others.
