Ohio Generator alts...anyone use 'em?

so you can just send in your original and have then build that one up? Is it cheaper that way instead of buying a new one
That's what I'm going to do, and yes it can be cheaper.

My factory alt. is a Bosche 150a. I found one on Eghey, used, for less than $100.

Gus told me they would have to buy a brand new one, or try to find a used one (which would be too much hassle for them). New ones can cost $2-300 depending on where you get it, and they would get it straight from Bosche or wherever; the most expensive route.

I paid 700 for my ohio alt. Was worth it. Its a really good alt but my blazer idles at like 500-550 so sometimes it wont charge when im stopped at a light. so i have to hold the gas a tad bit

i got mine from a guy i know that use to compete, its a 200 amp.he said it maxes out at 220,i also have the external regulator to.i installed it on my 62 chevy it charges great so far.i got 4 group 31's to it but no amps as of now hooked up,im not driving it at the time also.but when i raise the amps on it ,it bogs my motor down so i know its working good.i talked to gus too and he said if i have any problems he will fix it for me.this alty was made in 1999.

If it's a rewound stock case it's going to be limited in it's low-speed output most of the time. You may see little or no increase in output below 3-4000 rpm in some cases.

PM or email Mechman and talk to him, he can build an alternator for anything and will have no issue discussing a special build for your car.

Have you checked for belt slippage? What type of vehicle is this in?
put a brand new belt on when i put the alt on, problem occured right away. I don't know about slippage but the pulley is almost identical in size to the factory one.

its on a ohc 4.0 explorer

the last time i sent it in was to have it externally regulated.. they said they would fix it..

came back and worked the same.. i honestly think they forgot about it.
