Oh no FORD!

Better than Bose or Ford "Premium" sound systems ...
Sony is a name that many people associate with high-quality electronics. It's not always true (especially w/ car audio), but it is a selling point to most people.

Also, with Sony making the system, it'll probably be easier to swap in other brands of audio equipment.
Thats true, and more I think of the positives, the more I agree its for the best. I forgot how many car companies are looking at aftermarket systems for their cars. I guess when I heard it was like Oh no, but you guys are right. The more aftermarket from the factory, the easier it should be to upgrade. I guess you could always not order the option.

Sorry to all the Sony fans I may offended. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

Just a Question..Who makes ford stuff now?? I know someone with a New 07 mustang with the shacker 500, and it sounds incredible for stock, comes with factory 8's in the doors...I've heard that alpine was doing some stuff in them, but never really looked into it...

^^ lol i know my friend bought a NEW 06 GT....went in and out of the shop like 6 times for ****** in about 2 months...Then they replace it with a 07, and it has a pretty bad tap, And hte car hasnt even been driving hard...Yet...Kinda sucks...07 is in the shop right now trying to get fixed....

My brother's friend works at a Ford dealer, and he says that it is like a 30 sec fix if you don't need the cruise. all you have to is disconect it. The actual fix takes longer, but it isnt very hard.
Yeah I'm sure it's an easy fix...BEFORE it lights on fire.

If a car company finally relents to the aftermarket buying public to enough of a degree that they're looking to offer better audio systems as OEM gear who do you think they're going to look to? The highest end gear or the company that will give them the best deal for purchasing in bulk?I would suggest the latter rather than the former.

Sure it would be nice to have Arc, CDT, Rainbow, and the like as options for audio when you go to purchase a new ride but it simply isn't cost efficient for the automaker to make available.

Scion, a division of Toyota (which is inarguably a profitable company with a few different luxury offerings notwithstanding) offered (or still offers...don't know which) an option for a "better than stock" audio system.

The gear was Bazooka. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sad as I am considering they are a Louisiana-based outfit.......I'd probably rather have stock Toyota gear rather than Bazooka at the end of the day...
Despite what people may think.. their subs and speakers arent bad. Theyre no rainbows, but theyre not nearly as bad as others.
