Who will win the Stanley Cup ?

I caught the 3rd on my break and the Pens were definitely outplaying Detroit in the 3rd and deserved the win.
I was a little surprised that penalty was called, though. It was definitely a penalty, but usually they let those chincey calls slide when it's a tie game in the 3rd period of a Stanley Cup finals. Detroit's penalty kill on that one was uncharacteristically brutal, though.
the fact that they called that pentalty was a joke compared to some of the stuff helm put up with in the first and second trying to dodge past a couple defenders in the first and second period.

and i'm not a detroit fan exactly. i'm just a fan of watching good games, and my states team happens to be in the finals. but the first two periods when everyone that was at the party i was at was screaming about how "oh and that's not interferance?" i didn't join along. i told them it didn't look too bad. then to see ericsson get called on something half as bad as what had been going on all game, which resulted in the game winning goal, it makes you wonder

I just love it when people refer to sports teams as "we"
Like, "we played well last night".

Did ya, really?

lol ok for your sake, from now and on I will just say Wings or "they, them"

cool? :p

How many times do I need to tell you guys to stop watching NBC ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif If you want unbiased, knowledgeable, and substantially more entertaining commentary, watch CBC. NBC's commentators are terrible.
Ha, I remembered that last night in the 3rd period. Only downside is that it is harder to listen to the commentators - more crowd noise. At least on the TV I was watching. I'm excited to watch the next game with less biased commentary, and what I immediately noticed were better shots of the game play.

The PK was brutal. The wings were outplayed, and missed on the couple of close chances they had. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The GMs and the league agreed on the Stanley Cup final schedule before the playoffs even started; there was to be back-to-back games on the weekends. Detroit will file a formal complaint with the league, though, as that agreement also had a stipulation that there was to be at least 2 media days prior to the start of the finals, which there was only 1, so they should've played Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.
What Malkin did definitely warranted a suspension of at least a game. I have no argument that his "star power" is what kept him in for game 3. Had someone like Matt Cooke done that, he'd be gone.

I get NBC and Versus in high def, I don't get CBC in high def, I will keep watching NBC and Versus for that reason.

Just curious how many people play ice hockey here?
Played ice hockey for a year, and roller for 3 when I was young. My only regret I have about all of my youth was not continuing to play ice hockey //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

It was a little frustrating last night when ericsson got called for interference when he didn't even touch him, yet cooke can elbow Helm in the head very hard. I wouldn't care, but call penalties consistently or not at all. Obviously refs might not have seen one as well as the other, but still.

Not sure if anyone saw the Franzen tripping penalty last night (at least I think it was yesterday), but that was pretty good faking on the Pens part IMO. Franzen's stick got caught in between the guy's legs and it was obvious it wasn't the stick that made him fall, it was of his own accord. Franzen was even laughing about it when he went into the box. The penalty was killed off I think though, so not a big deal.

started on roller at 7 went to ice at 10 played ice every since reno is a gay city and closed down the only ice in town when i was 14 that stopped me... i now travel to south lake tahoe an hour drive to play pickup or possibly start in the leagues there in fall, i am 19 now

played for about 25 years now ( im 30 ) Growing up in minnesota as a kid, playing hockey was pretty big. And the state hockey tournament and playing at the x brings in about 120.000 fans over 4 days.. Minnesota by far has some of the most elite players in the country and also has 14 of the the top 20 HS schools in the country
