Huet was un-fvcking-believable tonight (about fvcking time Huet showed up to play) ... Too bad their offense couldn't do shit.

Should be an interesting rematch.

As for Datsyuk and Lidstrom being out ... Datsyuk hasn't done shit in the playoffs this year and the loss of Lidstrom hasn't seemed to slow Detroit down over the last couple of games. Of course, Detroit's a better team with those 2 in, especially with Lidstrom.

Pittsburgh's D and MAF has played pretty d*mn well over the last 6 games, so if they can keep that up, I think they have a good shot at winning given that Crosby and Malkin are playing ridiculously well and they're getting offensive contributions from nearly everyone on their team.

They had their chances but Detroit ALSO had a goalie that stood on his head and made some ridiculous saves.......

As for Datsyuk not doing anything. Sure, he doesnt score, BUT he sucks up TWO of the opposing teams players to cover him. If he happens to break out of his yearly playoff drought, Pitts has no chance. Watch out for Helm. You got to see a glimpse of that kids talent and confidence last night!!!!!!

When Detroit scored that goal, I about pooped my pants, I wanted the series to stretch

I forget which goalie it was, but when he was flat on his stomach and the player tried to backhand a easy goal into an empty net and the goalie kicked his leg up and robber the hell out of him, I took a shot of jack for that one lol

That was Huet on Franzen.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said Thursday that defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom should be ready to play in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday.

He said the status of Pavel Datsyuk, Jonathan Ericsson and Kris Draper will be determined on game day. Of the three, Draper seems the least likely to be ready for Game 1.

Lidstrom, who has missed two games with a lower-body injury, skated on his own the last two days. Datsyuk (bruised foot) skated again on Thursday. Ericsson, who had an appendectomy on Wednesday, might skate Friday.

Holland said Datsyuk, who missed the last three games of the Chicago series, is getting better every day.

"He wants to know when he makes that push that he has that explosiveness,'' Holland said.

Lidstrom and Datsyuk are expected to practice on Friday. Holland isn't sure if Draper will practice. He has missed the last two games with a strained groin, which Holland said is not significant.

Holland said they won't know Ericsson's status until Saturday. He noted that defenseman Andreas Lilja had the same operation on a Wednesday in October and played on Saturday, after missing only two games.

detroit vs columbus they said mason was one hell of a golie, det got past him

anaheim ... hiller... got past him

chicago knabby... got past him 2 games..

with those amazing golies shutting down everyone detroit got past them somehow. i think they can get past fleury now

Update from Wings media availability: Coach Mike Babcock said Nicklas Lidstrom and Jonathan Ericsson will play Saturday in Game 1. Pavel Datsyuk (bruised foot) remains a game-time decision. He skated Friday but wasn't moving at full speed.

Lidstrom (lower-body injury) skated and look fine. Babcock said Ericsson didn't want to skate two days after undergoing an appendectomy, but he is certain to play in the opener.

"I skated a little bit yesterday, skated today, felt fine, I'll be ready to go,'' Lidstrom said.

He missed the last two games, the first time in his 17-year career he has missed a playoff game, snapping his streak of 228 straight postseason appearances.

"It was very hard sitting on the sidelines watching guys play,'' Lidstrom said. "It happened in Friday's game (Game 3 at Chicago) and I just couldn't play on Sunday (Game 4).''

"Detroit Red Wings defensemen Nicklas Lidstrom and Jonathan Ericsson are both playing, and center Pavel Datsyuk and Kris Draper are definitely out for the opening game of the Stanley Cup Finals."

Better than without both I suppose.
