see it all the time with the wings. They carry the play for 3 effin periods THEN the opposition waltzes down the ice and put in a goal. Was a good shot.. yes, but man when was the last time the Wings won an OT game that COUNTS????

o Well, we will see how they respond. And I have another question. Why does The Joe seem so danm quiet compared to all the other games I am watching? I went to game 1 with the Jackets and it was like the crowd was napping. THIS IS HOCKEYTOWNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Definitely. That was one of the worst early whistles I have ever seen. I understand that if the ref loses sight of the puck, he has to blow the play dead. But, there should also be some sort of review when the ref is out of position, as he clearly was.

Oh well...game is over. Time to concentrate on game 4, and getting back in this thing! GO RED WINGS!!!

Uh, Crosby can check, shoot, and skate pretty d*mn well, too. Ovie may be better at it and Ovie did an assload of crying to the refs against NYR and Crosby hasn't been doing it at all in the playoffs this year (last year, definitely).
Ovie and Crosby both had wicked games last night (Hat tricks for both). Ovie still pisses me off, though. Every time he touches the puck before the offensive zone, he either:

a) Tries to deke out everyone on the opposing team, turning the puck over, creating an odd-man rush for his opponents.

or

b) Takes a wrist shot from the blue line for an easy save by the opposing goaltender.

That's not smart hockey ...

The save by Varlamov the other night was good, not the save of the decade, though. Kiprusoff on Wellwood earlier this year was the save of the year, IMO. I would say Luongo's save on Eager that same night was at least as good, if not better, due to the distance he had to go to get it; Crosby shot the puck right at Varlamov.

Hiller is plain ridiculous! Wings need to change the game plan if they would like to win another game. Shooting high, glove side ISNT working! Time to get in there and get some sloppy goals.
